Rule 64
Establishment of Cooperative Savings and Credit Protection Fund
: (1) According to sub-section (1) of Section 101 of the Act, when establishing a cooperative savings and credit protection fund, it shall be done in the framework of a specialized cooperative association.
(2) The basis of establishment of Savings and Credit Protection Fund, membership, capital structure, organizational structure and other arrangements shall be as approved by the Government of Nepal.
(3) In the savings and credit protection fund to be established according to sub-rule (1), savings and credit institutions as well as multi-purpose or thematic organizations that deal in savings and credit can also become members.
(4) The savings and credit protection fund shall include the participation of the Nepal government, state government, local level, Nepal Rastra Bank, National Cooperative Development Board, Nepal Multi-Purpose Central Cooperative Association, Nepal Agricultural Cooperative Central Association, National Cooperative Federation and other bodies of the Government of Nepal. can
(5) The minimum paid-up share capital for the establishment of Savings and Credit Protection Fund shall be 60 million rupees and at least 60 percent of it shall be deposited by the institutions.
